A Coast to Coast Bicycle Ride

Follow my adventures as I pedal from Vancouver to St. John's with the Tour du Canada. The title is a quote from an interview I gave with the Columbiana County [Ohio] Morning Journal in the midst of a cross-USA trip. Their reporter suggested I was "understating the case somewhat".

Getting There

Hello from St. Louis de Kent, NB - site of our last rest day (tomorrow); does that make it my final resting place? With luck I will be able to catch up on blogging using the campground computer (what I am using to post this now); if not, I will try to at least provide textual updates as we progress through our final week on tour. Today's highlight: breaking a gear cable just past Mirimachi and riding the remaining 50 or so km with only 2 working gears. Fortunately, NB is leading the Best Roads in Canada contest (although we do still have 3 provinces to go) so that was not overly arduous. Or could it be my now-huge thighs had enough power to overcome the terrain? The truth will out in a few days' time when we tackle the Cabot Trail.
